January 2024 Storm Damage

Waves broke windows in the Annex (tunnel) and the connector between the Tower and Annex and water entered the building. The door on the west side of the Tower broke and caused even more water to enter. As the storm continued, water entered through the door to the Museum/Keeper's house and covered the floor. A ferry captain resuced one of the ship models found outside of the museum. The force of the waves moved the boathouse on its posts and some parts of the Light Station were found in the field near the pulpit. Committee members and volunteers joined in the cleanup effort and readied the building for the second storm.

These pictures show the damage and committee members and volunteers cleaning up after the first storm and readying the building for the next storm.
